Remembering Americans

DAYTONA BEACH (12/7/04) - On December 7, 2004 there was  an article in the local paper in Daytona Beach about civilian efforts to support the war during WW II. I received the article printed below from my mother Barbara Mason. My grandmother, Jean Wilder Lindley, was pictured in the article. There was something that touched me about the sacrifices so many made during World War II.  There is added emotion when you realize that members of your family fought, or are fighting, for what they believe in: America. Americans who help protect America are remembered now and they will be in the future. The pictures in the article below say the rest.

My grandmother, Jean Wilder Lindley,  is the one christening the boat in the picture above She worked as a welder at the Daytona Boat Works as part of the WW II civilian effort during WW II.

Here is an article about Robert Wilder, my grandmother's brother. One of his books entitled "God has a long face," was based upon my great grandfather W.W. Wilder.
