I have spent the last hour reading the comments regarding the coming war in Iraq, and I find a good portion of them to be totally off the wall, and have absolutely no basis in fact.  I read an article some time ago, where the writer described the earth as a spinning, orbiting ball, covered with Lunatics.  The closer we get to this coming conflict, the more I believe this.  There is so much to write, I am at a loss as to where to start.

 

I suppose a history lesson would be in order for a starters.  Back in the '30s a despot, much the same as Saddam came to power in Germany.  The sad part of this was, he used the rules of a democracy to rise to power  and take over the country.  He tried to do it the hard way at first, but wound up in prison for his trouble.  Upon his release, he took up the fight again, using the rules of democracy, and this time he was successful.  He was a dynamic speaker, and some say he was able to hypnotize the huge crowds he spoke to.  He took Germany, and spilled into the neighboring countries of Europe, finding little or no resistance.  He wanted to weed out all the bad blood in these countries, so he began to kill Jews, slowly at first, then as the technology became better and better, he was able to gas and burn thousands a day. I think, the movie "Shindler's list", should be required viewing for all high school students as this shows exactly what happened, and bad as it was, I'm sure it didn't begin to tell the complete story.   The Jews weren't the only victims.  If you were slightly mentally deficient, if you had a criminal record, if you were olive skinned or black, you were also a candidate for the ovens.  Uncle Adolph, wanted only the purest, smartest and blondest blue eyed stock for his great experiment at building a master race. He damned near succeeded.
 

He got in bed with the Japanese, and the Italians, and as liberal as you may be, I'm sure you have heard about the attack on Pearl Harbor.  Do you know, there are some dimwits who believe it was our fault. 

 

Hitler waltzed into France, and they didn't  put up any kind of a fight.  The British tried, but were hopelessly outnumbered, and had to be rescued by hundreds of small boats that crossed the channel saved most of them.   After Pearl, Pres. Roosevelt declared war on the axis powers, and we spent the next four years plus, with our men, our material,  our ships, planes, guns, and whatever else, and we cleaned the world up.  If it were not for us,  the UNITED STATED OF AMERICA,     the Germans would have controlled Europe, no doubt about it.  Russia would have fallen along with all the Baltic countries, and we would have only had the Atlantic Ocean to keep him off American shores.  How long do you think we would have held out, with the Germans beating on our East Coast, and the Japanese beating on our West Coast???  Even with all this, there were thousands of people who didn't want us to get into the war, said it didn't affect us, it wasn't our fight etc etc etc.  Well, we all know this was a whole lot of pasture pies, and stronger heads prevailed and we were victorious.  Yes, we lost a lot of men, yes we spent untold billions, but, yes, we are now free in the U.S, and most, not all, but most of the world is now free, because of the will of the United States to right world wrongs. 

 

Yes, we were the only country in history, (so far) to have used atomic bombs to flatten cities.  I am glad we had a man called "Give Em Hell Harry" S. Truman, in the white house.  ( a democrat, not a liberal democrat) Maybe my dad who was on a carrier in the pacific wouldn't have gotten home to us, along with hundreds of thousands of others who would have been lost in the years it would have taken to finally beat Japan into Submission.  When Harry S dropped the big one, the war was over in three days, and they signed the surrender in a week. 

 

We pulled out France's chestnuts  twice, once in the first world war, and again in the second, and we kept Russia from taking over Europe right after WW2.  Then there's Germany.  When the Russians blockaded Berlin, and built a wall, who was it that gathered up every worn out WW2 airplane, every worn out airliner,  as long as it had engines the props that turned over, and hauled every thing from soup to soft coal, into Berlin, and kept the Russians at bay.  I shudder to think what that cost us, not only in dollars and equipment, but in lives lost in air crashes. Then there was the Berlin wall, which has been reduced to souvenirs, and rubble, because of one man, Ronald Regan, and do not forget it!! Today France and Germany are fighting us, and the truth be known, it's because of the French oil deals made with Saddam and the French, and the German Technology they have been peddling in Iraq since desert storm.  I would like to write what I think of that, but I'd burn down the Internet.

 

Now let's talk about my war, the Korean Conflict.  If the politico's hadn't gotten involved in it, Old Mac would have gone right up to the Chinese border, kicked their ass back into China, and Korea wouldn't be a problem today.  The North Korean problem is the direct result of politicians ham stringing our military.  It's pay now or pay later.  Any person who spat on or ridiculed out service men coming home from Viet Nam, should hang their head in shame.  There again, politicians kept the military from doing it's job,and we wound up losing a war that should not have been lost at any cost.  We had all the liberal Whackos out demonstrating day after day, and Jane Fonda even went to North Korea and hob nobbed with the people there, even riding on an antiaircraft gun, just a short skip from where our men were imprisoned and abused in the Hanoi Hilton. 

If you notice, her career has been totally stopped right there, as there is not a vet in the country that will give her crap, along with many, or most civilians who also thought that she  was just a whipstitch from treason, and probably should have been imprisoned or shot.

 

Now we come to Saddam!!  What to do with him?  I think the first step is to cause him to assume room temperature, and plant him into a very deep hole in the ground.  He is just the head of the snake, and there is no doubt that he is in bed with the terrorists.  After he is gone, we attempt to help the Iraqi people form a democratic govt., get them back on track, and help them get their oil flowing again.  It's their oil, not ours, and we are not interested in it. If we had wanted Iraqi oil, we could have cleaned them out and taken it during the gulf war.  We did just what we said we were going to do.  Freed Kuwait, put out all the oil well fires,  and got them settled and left.  We did make a grave mistake however, we didn't see to Saddam's assuming Room Temp!!  Of Course, old George did just what he promised, kicked them out, and gave Kuwait back their country.  Bush lost the next election and we found ourselves saddled with that piece of scum, who's only care was whose pants he could get into, or where he was going to get his next BJ.  Every time he got into trouble,to take the heat off,  he lobbed a missile into Iraq and no one said a word.  Strange, HMMMM??  He did get a big bad aspirin factory however!! 

 

Will Saddam use weapons of  mass destruction?   Hell, he used them on his own people, and I don't think there is any doubt he will use them on whomever is in his way.  We cannot tolerate this man and he has to go, the sooner the better.   He is making a bunch of chumps out of us, and the united nations, (whose days are numbered after their last fiasco) and will continue to do so as long as we let him.  The people who demonstrated over the weekend, only cause more people to be hurt as it gives them a boost to think all those people in the major cities are against a war. Think of the impact it would have had on Saddam if all those people were shouting for his butt on a plate, and don't think for a minute he don't see all those demonstrations.   It is totally un-American to demonstrate in these manner, as it is a direct slap in the face to all the service guys who are going over to straighten this mess out.  Anyone who watched Bush talk to the crew of the aircraft carrier, has to be proud of those clean faced young men and women who are going to be in harms way, to protect our people and our way of life.  I spit on all anti war demonstrators, except most are not worth the spit.!!!!!
